- Meeting was called to order. 13 people were present; everyone introduced themselves
- November 2018 meeting minutes were approved
- Recap of recent events
- Box Tops: raised $320.20 so far! And major contest until 2/22 (before submission deadline of 3/1)
- Bingo and Family Game Night: ~20-25 families attended
- Good turnout (had to get more tables); free snacks included Pirate’s Booty and Sun Chips
- Recommend PA system next time (a little hard to hear Bingo caller)
- Spiritwear Apparel Sale (not tie-dye): waiting on check
- A lot of work for this service with little profit
- Perhaps low sales since families can’t see/feel the items before ordering
- Not as much interest in Blaze gear; tie-dye shirts are more successful
- Treasurer’s Update
- Possible funding of a larger project (i.e. playground, outdoor classroom)
- Mr. Essay gathering staff input on what they want for the building and looking for common feedback among the grade levels
- PTO cannot fund staff positions or stipends for certain activities (i.e. student council, orchestra)
- Schwan’s Campaign program will end on 4/30/2019 (we’ve already raised $996!)
- Paid for Artist in Residence supplies, book grant (pass through), and some teacher grants
- Possible funding of a larger project (i.e. playground, outdoor classroom)
- Volunteer Coordinator Update
- Still have many open team lead positions
- Staff appreciation week of ⅚
- BOGO Book Fair in May needs help! (thanks Christie Hagemann for leading)
- Help Tien with landscaping – possible family fun night?!
- HORNET HOP – existing team has dissolved but has detailed notes and tasks regarding how to run the event (James Palmer willing to be part of planning team of 2-3 more people)
- YEARBOOK – need a sales lead, creative lead to make the yearbook, and photographers (perhaps a photographer for each grade level to split up the work) (thanks current lead Gretchen Graham)
- Still have many open team lead positions

- Read-a-thon: *Dive into Reading* (thanks Katie Fisher, Melissa Maggio, and Keralyn Powers)
- meeting with teachers for input, corporate sponsors for prizes (over $1,000 donated), both individual and community incentives with weekly prize drawings
- March PTO meeting = Jacob Wetterling Resource Center Presentation!
