  1. Meeting was called to order. 16 people were present; everyone introduced themselves
    1. September 2018 meeting minutes were approved
  2. Recap of PTO approved motions
    1. Expenses: McHugh’s First Day of School Event, Plants (front of school)
    2. Decreased student directory price and Hornet Hop entry fee
    3. Intentions: make events more affordable as a result of successful fundraising
  3. Treasurer’s Update
    1. Build forecast; unknown variables in springtime can affect fall budget
    2. Decide/determine feasibility of long-term goal using excess funds
    3. Revenue = spiritwear, student directories, Dollar General Grant
    4. Expenses = additional tie-dye t-shirts (expanded sizing to include XS and XL), MySchoolAnywhere subscription fee, teacher reimbursements, back-to-school expenses
    5. Potential for scholarship opportunities; determine if/how we can reach out to families in need
  4. Volunteer Coordinator Update
    1. Team leads needed: Hornet Hop, hospitality, book fair, read-a-thon, teacher/staff appreciation
      1. Reminder: events/services disappear without volunteers
    2. All fliers must be reviewed and approved by Jenny Hinman prior to going in Friday Folders
      1. Maximize paper usage by printing front and back
    3. Opportunity for volunteer to oversee collection drives similar to Box Tops (Loaves for Learning)
  5. Grant Committee
    1. Recommended approval of all grant requests: RazKids, Artist in Residence, Kindess Retreat, Base Camp, indoor recess toys, Phy. Ed. equipment, sensory toys, classroom supplies, Microbits, in-house Science Museum and Raptor Center field trips, Ebenezer transportation, and PBIS
    2. Grant Committee decisions were approved (Tawny motioned; Linda seconded)
  6. Hornet Hop
    1. Silent Auction – everything was donated! (primarily gift cards)
      1. Buy now options; winner must be present and pay same night (cash, check, and credit cards)
    2. Games and food require tickets
    3. Work with the school to try to give ticket bundles to families in need
  7. Other PTO Business
    1. Fundraising opportunities: Chipotle Night (11/12), paint party?, Schwans Campaign (through Feb)
    2. Read-a-thon: working with The Get Movin’ Crew and review with BLT to get teacher involvement
    3. Family Fun Night: 12/7 – need to determine what event will be
    4. Reviewed idea of putting inspirational messages on bathroom stalls; grant request to be filled out
    5. Twins Game will be 4/26 (Friday) – $15/ticket
